The roofing system on this house

Owens Corning Supreme is a traditional three-tab shingle, a flat, uniform look that suits smaller sections, outbuildings and homes that were originally built with three-tab. The shingle is only the top layer. Here’s the full system that went on this house:

  • Synthetic underlayment, edge to edge. It doesn’t wrinkle or tear like felt, and it keeps the deck dry if a shower pops up mid-job.
  • Self-sealing ice and water membrane where water concentrates. It seals around every nail driven through it, which matters in valleys and at the eaves.
  • OC Starter strip along every edge. The first course is where wind gets under a roof. A factory starter with its own sealant line locks it down.
  • OC ProEdge Hip & Ridge cap. Pre-formed cap that seals the hips and ridge.
  • Lomanco Omni Roll ridge vent. Continuous exhaust at the peak. Together with the soffit intake, it moves heat and moisture out of the attic.

The crew behind this roof

This was a St. Louis office job, installed by our own crew, not subcontracted out. From the day the job was opened (August 17, 2026) to the day the crew finished (September 11, 2026) took 25 days. Family-owned since 1947, we back every replacement with a lifetime workmanship warranty. We answer the phone around the clock, storms included. See 24/7 emergency service.
