What went on this roof

Supreme is Owens Corning's three-tab shingle: a flat, even pattern that matches older three-tab roofs and works well on garages and small sections. People shop for the shingle, but what’s underneath it and how the edges are finished decide how long the roof lasts. On this job:

  • A full layer of synthetic underlayment. It’s the backup water barrier under the shingles, and it holds up to foot traffic and wind far better than paper felt.
  • Ice and water shield in the valleys and along the eaves. Those are the two places a Midwest roof takes on water first, from ice dams in January and heavy runoff in spring storms.
  • OC Starter at the eaves and rakes. It’s a purpose-made starter strip with factory adhesive, not cut-up field shingles, so the edges stay sealed.
  • OC ProEdge Hip & Ridge cap. Pre-formed cap that seals the hips and ridge.
  • Lomanco Omni Roll ridge vent. Continuous exhaust at the peak. Together with the soffit intake, it moves heat and moisture out of the attic.

Who installed it

This was a St. Louis office job, installed by our own crew, not subcontracted out. From the day the job was opened (August 21, 2026) to the day the crew finished (September 3, 2026) took 13 days. Family-owned since 1947, we back every replacement with a lifetime workmanship warranty. If a storm opens up a roof at 2 a.m., someone answers the phone. See 24/7 emergency service.
