Start with the look, not the chart
CertainTeed makes more residential shingle lines than most homeowners expect, and many of its colors share names across lines. A long color chart is overwhelming. It is easier to decide which family of look you want — everyday architectural, impact-resistant, shake, or luxury designer — and then compare colors inside that family.
The Landmark family: everyday architectural roofs
Landmark is CertainTeed’s core architectural shingle, with 9 colors on our selector including Moire Black, Weathered Wood, Driftwood, Georgetown Gray and Heather Blend. Landmark PRO adds a thicker profile and the “Max Def” color blends, 11 on our selector, including Max Def Shenandoah, Red Oak, Coastal Blue, Espresso and Evergreen. Our Landmark colors guide compares all three Landmark lines side by side.
Impact resistance: the ClimateFlex lines
Landmark ClimateFlex and NorthGate ClimateFlex use a polymer-modified asphalt designed for impact resistance and flexibility in cold weather. Landmark ClimateFlex comes in 9 colors, including Burnt Sienna and Pewter. In hail-prone parts of Missouri, Kansas and Illinois, many homeowners ask about these lines, and some insurers offer premium credits for impact-rated roofs. See Landmark ClimateFlex colors.
Wood-shake looks: Presidential Shake
The Presidential Shake lines give the deep, layered look of cedar shakes without the upkeep. Presidential Shake is the base line, Presidential Shake IR adds impact resistance, and Presidential Shake TL is a triple-laminate with an even thicker profile. They suit craftsman, rustic and lake homes. See Presidential Shake colors.
Luxury designer looks: Grand Manor, Carriage House, Belmont, Highland Slate
These are CertainTeed’s premium designer shingles, heavier and more sculpted than standard architectural shingles. Grand Manor and Carriage House give a bold, layered, old-world look suited to larger traditional homes. Belmont and Highland Slate lean toward the look of natural slate, a good fit for older brick homes and Tudors. See Grand Manor, Carriage House, Belmont and Highland Slate.
Budget-focused lines: Patriot XL and XT 25
For rentals, outbuildings or projects where cost leads the decision, CertainTeed’s budget lines offer a simpler profile with a shorter color list. See Patriot XL and XT 25. If you plan to stay in the home for decades, compare the price difference against an architectural line before deciding.
Colors that cross lines
Several CertainTeed color names — Moire Black, Weathered Wood, Heather Blend, Georgetown Gray, Colonial Slate, Pewter, Driftwood, Resawn Shake and Cobblestone Gray — show up in more than one Landmark line. That makes it easy to pick a look first and choose the line based on budget or storm exposure. For HOAs, it also helps keep a consistent appearance across buildings.
Choosing a CertainTeed color for your home
Match the shingle to what you are keeping. Warm red brick usually pairs with brown blends such as Weathered Wood, Heather Blend, Resawn Shake or Burnt Sienna. Gray stone and cool siding pair with Georgetown Gray, Pewter or Cobblestone Gray. White siding with black trim suits Moire Black. Look at samples outdoors at different times of day and from the street.
