Roofing in north Florissant (63034)
The 63034 ZIP covers the northern stretch of Florissant, where much of the housing went up during the post-war building boom: brick and frame ranches, split-levels and modest two-stories with plain gable and hip roofs. Houses of that vintage are commonly on their second or third roof, so the tear-off is where we find out what the earlier re-roofs left behind — soft decking along the eaves, nails driven through old layers, or vents that were simply shingled around.

Why a three-tab roof still gets the full system underneath
Royal Sovereign is GAF's three-tab line: a single-layer shingle with a uniform, flat appearance. Because a three-tab is lighter than an architectural shingle, what sits under it matters even more. On Exacta Court that meant a full synthetic underlayment over the deck, a self-adhered ice and water roll at the eaves and valleys, a purpose-made starter strip at the edges, and matching GAF hip and ridge cap at the peaks.
Ventilation was finished with a Lomanco Omni Roll ridge vent. A three-tab shingle cooked from below by a hot, unvented attic ages visibly faster, so exhaust at the ridge paired with open soffit intake is part of the roof, not an option added to it.
