Materials installed, layer by layer

With IKO Dynasty, the detail that matters most is the ArmourZone nailing strip: a wider, reinforced band where the nails go, so fasteners land where they hold best. The shingle is only the top layer. Here’s the full system that went on this house:

  • Synthetic underlayment, edge to edge. It doesn’t wrinkle or tear like felt, and it keeps the deck dry if a shower pops up mid-job.
  • Ice and water shield in the valleys and along the eaves. Those are the two places a Midwest roof takes on water first, from ice dams in January and heavy runoff in spring storms.
  • Factory starter at the eaves and rakes. It’s a purpose-made starter strip with factory adhesive, not cut-up field shingles, so the edges stay sealed.
  • IKO Hip & Ridge on the hips and peak. Matching cap shingles made for the job, not field shingles cut into pieces.
  • Lomanco Omni Roll ridge vent. Continuous exhaust at the peak. Together with the soffit intake, it moves heat and moisture out of the attic.

Who did the work

This was a St. Louis office job, installed by our own crew, not subcontracted out. From the day the job was opened (September 10, 2026) to the day the crew finished (September 22, 2026) took 12 days. Family-owned since 1947, we back every replacement with a lifetime workmanship warranty. If a storm opens up a roof at 2 a.m., someone answers the phone. See 24/7 emergency service.

Questions homeowners ask about this project

What shingle was installed on this Webster Groves roof?

IKO IKO Dynasty, over synthetic underlayment across the full deck. The full system is in the project details table above.

Was ice and water shield installed?

Yes. Ice and water membrane went in the valleys and along the eaves, the spots where water backs up or collects first.

How long did this project take from start to finish?

12 days from the day the job was opened to the day the crew finished. Most of that time is scheduling, material ordering and any insurance paperwork. The tear-off and install usually take a day or two on a house this size.

How big was the roof on Reavis Place?

11.00 squares, or about 1,100 square feet of roof surface. A roofing square is 100 square feet. Roofs are measured and priced that way, not by the square footage of the floor plan.

Do you publish the customer's address?

No. We publish the street name, city and ZIP so you can see we really work in your neighborhood. We leave off the house number and never publish a customer's name.

Who do I call about a roof in Webster Groves?
