Eureka is not a West County subdivision with a flat front yard. Most of the houses we inspect here sit on wooded lots, with steep pitches, long valleys, and tree cover that drops limbs and leaves onto the same spots every storm. The 2020 census counted 11,646 people. The city is mainly in St. Louis County, touches Jefferson County south of the Meramec, and sits between Wildwood and Pacific on the I-44 corridor. ZIP code 63025.
What fails on Eureka roofs
The open field of the shingle is rarely the first failure. Valleys pack with oak debris, water sits, and the underlayment wears through at the bend. South and west slopes lose granules faster where the canopy opens up. After a straight-line wind, we find creased tabs that are still attached, especially on the tall gables common on 1990s and 2010s custom homes in Legends, Rockwood Reserve, and the hillside streets off Route 109.
Allenton, annexed into Eureka in 1985, is a different roof stock: older houses, lower pitches, and more repair-versus-replace calls. We say which it is in the written report. If the roof has life left, the report says so.
Storms off the Franklin County line
Hail and wind that cross Franklin County hit Eureka before they reach Ballwin. Bruising in the shingle mat does not show from the driveway. We mark test squares, count hits, and photograph soft metals — gutters, vents, and downspouts — because those dents date the storm for the claim. We meet the adjuster on the roof. If the first scope misses code items, we write the supplement.
Homes near the Meramec have a second problem that is not the shingle: water that leaves the roof still has to clear the foundation. Overflowing gutters on a Eureka lot dump against the basement. For gutter and downspout work, see our Eureka gutter company page.
If water is coming in tonight
Call 314-429-6000. A person answers — nights, weekends, holidays. Steep pitches and two-story elevations are normal here, so we stage the tarp instead of working it off a ladder. We photograph the opening before the cover goes on. Once the roof is dried in, the claim photos are gone. Crews already run the I-44 corridor through Valley Park, Eureka, and Pacific. This is not a long-distance dispatch from another state.
How an Eureka job is priced
Free inspection. Every slope photographed. Written price with materials named, including the per-sheet price if decking has to be replaced after tear-off. We pull the permit the City of Eureka requires and meet the inspection. HOA or subdivision color rules, where they apply, get confirmed before the tear-off, not after the shingles are on the roof.

Frequently asked questions
- Do you charge a trip fee to Eureka?
- No. Eureka is inside our regular St. Louis service area. The inspection and the written estimate are free, including nights when water is coming in.
- Can a wooded-lot roof be repaired instead of replaced?
- Often. Debris in one valley is a repair. Bruising across the slopes, or a shingle at the end of its life on the south face, is a replacement. The written Eureka report says which, with photographs.
- Do you document hail for insurance in Eureka?
- Yes. We photograph every slope and the soft metals, write the scope, meet the adjuster on the roof, and handle a supplement when the first scope is short.
- Who permits a roof in Eureka?
- The City of Eureka. We pull the permit the job requires and meet the inspection. You do not stand in line at city hall for it.
