Vista AR is the middle of Malarkey's architectural lineup, and the one we see most across the Midwest. It is built with Malarkey's rubberized (polymer-modified) asphalt, carries a Class 4 hail impact rating under UL 2218, and uses copper algae-resistant granules plus smog-reducing granules. Malarkey backs it with a limited lifetime shingle warranty, a 15-year non-prorated period and a 25-year algae warranty.

Is Malarkey Vista AR a Class 4 shingle?
Yes. Vista AR carries a Class 4 rating under UL 2218, the highest impact rating an asphalt shingle can get. Some insurance companies give a discount for a Class 4 roof, so ask your agent.
What is the difference between Vista AR and Legacy?
Both are Class 4 and share the same 9 colors in our region. Legacy is thicker, has more tear strength, uses Scotchgard algae granules, and carries a longer non-prorated period and algae warranty. Vista AR costs less.
