About ProVia CedarMAX® Siding
CedarMAX is the ProVia line we point homeowners to when a wall needs to do more than look good. Every panel is bonded to a contoured rigid EPS foam backer, so the siding sits tight to the wall instead of floating over a hollow gap. That foam adds a continuous layer of insulation across the studs, where the fiberglass inside your walls can’t reach, and it gives the panel a deep 1-1/8″ projection with strong shadow lines.
For Midwest homes that see hail in spring, humid 90-degree summers and January wind across open ground, that backing earns its keep. ProVia rates foam-backed CedarMAX at about five times the impact resistance of the same siding without insulation. The lap profiles are rated for 160 mph winds and the 8″ board and batten for 179 mph (ASD), and the foam carries PREVENTOL® TM3 termite protection.
CedarMAX is offered in all 27 ProVia siding colors across the Lifestyle and Signature Collections, every one with a cedar woodgrain texture. Click any swatch below and the selector at the top shows the close-up color plus a real home finished in it.

CedarMAX Siding Questions
Is insulated vinyl siding worth it for a Missouri or Kansas home?
It is when the wall is the weak point. Foam-backed siding stops heat from leaking through the studs, stiffens the panel against hail and wind, and quiets the house. On older homes with little wall insulation it is usually the single biggest comfort upgrade you can make from the outside.
What R-value does CedarMAX add?
ProVia lists R-2.3 for the Single 7″ lap, R-2.4 for the Double 6″ lap and R-2.8 for the Triple 4″ Dutch lap. That is added on top of the insulation already inside your walls, and it covers the studs, which cavity insulation cannot.
Can CedarMAX be combined with board and batten or shake?
Yes. CedarMAX makes its own 8″ and 12″ board and batten, and both lap profiles pair with Harbor Mill shake and shingle or manufactured stone for gables, porches and dormers.
Which CedarMAX colors come in the 12″ board and batten?
Only White. If you want wide vertical siding in a color, the 8″ CedarMAX Board ’N Batten is offered across the palette.
